I loved the brunch!!!! LOVED THE BRUNCH! LOVED THE DIFFERENT WAY OF DOING CHURCH! Okay, I was very excited about the whole thing and I think it's a great way to get to know the folks around you. It also gives us a chance to invite people who wouldn't usually come. I'm having a hard time fishing. Everytime I ask someone, they have something else to do or give me the polite brush off. I'm looking forward to inviting more folks for our next brunch and I want to help next time--more than the ad hoc way. LOVED IT!

    From John Gorman-
Fantastic!! I would like to give Super Kudos,to the Praise Team, Jason Craig, and Rev Ray nd ALL the behind the scenes persons as well. I think the entire style of having both the 8:45 and 10:30 congregations come together for one event was wonderful. The lighter delivery style overall was fresh and refreshing. Ray your selection and delivery of JOHN 3:16for the target audience was right on target. Sometimes just having "milk" from time to time and not deep-fried "meat" all the time is just what is called for to get the message across.

I think the Church has really shown in the past year (sometimes we are all on different pages, but) a great job of thinking outside the box and trying various outreach community events and obviously is very visionary in what Church can look like beyond the four walls on Sunday only.

Even if events of this past year or even today, may not increase filled seats next week or the following weeks, I think being visionary as you have been, that the seeds that are being planted will eventually become very fruitfull, whether it be in the Mt. Oak building or simply in the community.

I support and encourage future events of today in what ever format that may look like.

    Thanks!

Hey Nicole - if you're inviting people to hear about Jesus and how to have eternal life through Him, then DON'T quit!!! I was nasty to the first person who approached me about Jesus (way back when people talked about the four spiritual laws). I literally told this girl to get the you-know-what out of my face. But she planted a seed, she started me thinking about the fact that I had a God-sized hole in my heart, she started me questioning things. Two years later I sought out to a preacher who answered my questions without a lot of preamble and after an hour or so of that, I gave my heart to Jesus and accepted Him into my life. So don't give up! Telling people how they can have eternal life, being bold by showing them sin isn't as fun as it looks, caring enough to say "stop what you're doing - it's not right and it's not working - here's a better way" is one of the best gifts you can give someone.

Wow, I agree with that third post about not giving up. Eternity is a very long time and we need to be mindful that we are commissioned to tell people about Christ. We don't want people burning in Hell for eternity! They need to hear about Jesus and that He offers so much more than what they see or what the media tells them.

This was the best idea ever! It was exciting to see the church family at work and to hear the simple yet dynamic Gospel shared.
