How about sharing some Thanksgiving memories? What is special about Thanksgiving for you and your family? What are some of the traditions you follow still today? What are some you remember, fondly? Not so fondly?
When Quoting Scripture Inflicts Harm

My Mom passed away the day after in 2003 so this is the hardest and yet the most thankful time of the year for me. I am thankful for the years that I had my mom but I miss her more than anything in the world but know that she is shining down on me even as I write this blog. My father-in-law passed away the Saturday after Thanksgiving in 1998 so this is also a very difficult time for us especially for my husband. We very much miss Daddy and I know that he and Mom are having a great time and they always enjoyed each others company so much and are still doing so now. It just is so very painful still to us that are left behind but comforting to know that we will see them again one day. It is also a time that I am thankful that I was with my Mom when she passed to the Father and her Pastor was with her at her bedside as we prayed with her. I know that she had the comfort of knowing that there was now no pain and only rest and eternal peace and for that I am eternally thankful. Thanks Rev. Ray for letting us blog these memories! I don't like Thanksgiving. There's too much emphasis placed on getting together with family. I have no family here (probably along with hundreds of others). It's a lonely time. I feel like the poor kid standing outside watching all the other kids frolicking in the toy store. But I'm not bitter.
