I love the 10:30 service. I have been to all different types of churches, many different denominations, rituals, and traditions. I grew up in a Black United Methodist Church when we went to my parents' home city and in Baptist churches when we were at our different military stations. As an adult, I've attended non-denominational, Church of God in Christ, and others. I fell back in love with the Methodist Church for its tolerance and its multicultural embrace. The 10:30 service gives me the soulful music that encourages me to worship, the prayer time to reflect, and the teaching for guidance. It also lets me have some time with my four children and without so we can enjoy the service together and appreciate it at our own levels of understanding. I love Mount Oak!
I too am nourished and blessed weekly by our service on Sunday--which is weird because I come to worship my Savior but in doing that He allows me to be blessed! I don't get it! The worship teams are so committed to allowing the rest of us to enter into the throne room--I pray that they are equally blessed! I thank the Lord that they have been obedient to the call He has had on their lives!!
Thanks to Ray, Charlie and Jason for delivering the messages no matter how they may be recieved--you preach the truth! (especially about how exercise could cause enjury!)
I love my church!

I have only been going to Mt Oak for a few weeks, so I actually do not know what it was like before these recent changes. I like the worship because it lends a way for us to express our praise. Remember, worship is for God, not us. Also, I feel a move of God concerning praise/worship at Mt Oak. I feel that it will grow to be even more expressive, without inhibitions and the power of God will manifest in its fullness. Glory be to God. Thank you worship team for your obedience in Christ.
