Who Are These Society Would Abort?

Would you consider abortion in any of the following four situations? Often the argument is made by society that quality of life or the threat of a lessened quality of life is reason to abort. Would you consider abortion or suggest abortion in any of these circumstances?

    1. There's a preacher and wife who are very, very, poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she's pregnant with her 15th. They're living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending she get an abortion? - This baby was John Wesley - the founder of the Methodist Church

    2. The father is sick with syphilis, the mother has TB. They have 4 children. The 1st is blind, the 2nd is dead, the 3rd is deaf and the 4th has TB. She finds she's pregnant again. Given the extreme situation, would you consider recommending abortion? - This baby was Beethoven

    3. A white man raped a 13 year old black girl and she got pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider recommending abortion? - This baby was Ethel Waters - a great Gospel Singer

    4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She's not married. Her fiancee is not the father of the baby, and he's very upset. Would you consider recommending abortion? - This baby was Jesus

Although I feel very sad for the involved women, and their families, I could not and would not ever recommend an abortion! Abortion is not the end--it's the beginning of a long life of pain, sorrow and regret! Although adoption has it's own kind of pain, I would have to say that ulitmately choosing life and adoption is less painful. Once a child is aborted there is no turning back. Adoption offers the chance to make a bad situation good. Even when someone is raped and has been ultimatley wounded-there is a chance to make a good decision for a helpless child! God can always make something beautiful out of the worst circumstances. I think if I were to counsel one of these women I would encourage them to seek the advice of someone who has gone through the same situation and decided to place the child for adoption. If she compares this with the experience of a woman who has aborted I'm sure she'd find the latter to be unacceptable!

Well, No.4 fits Mary, the mother of Jesus. The fiancee is Joseph, of course. I sure wouldn't have recommended abortion in their case.

Dan has picked #4 - it was Jesus who would have been aborted in this circumstance. Society would have encouraged abortion in this case.

Looks like LKJ has guessed #1, John Wesley & #2 Beethoven - only #3 left - with Dan getting #4 as Jesus. Just think of the void our world would have had any of them been aborted.

Ethel Waters, the great Gospel Singer was #3 - great job LKJ... Just think how our lives would have been diminished by the absence of John Wesley, Beethoven, Ethel Water and Jesus! Who among us knows the contributions of the uborn?
