Did you attend church October 4? If so, you might have heard the sermon on Trusting God. If not, you can listen to it on our web page - http://www.mtoak.org/sermons.html.
I am opening the floor for comments about this message?
When Quoting Scripture Inflicts Harm

Well it had me thinking. I will never debate that what is written is what is written. Now, going forward here- 1. I'm not debating you the Blog poster simply how often times similar statements, sermons, and verbal discussions are made or used, by anyone. I think whether it be a political statement or a sermon, or anything of the like, often times, words and/or statitiscs, etc can used used to draw upon to support the messege of the speaker.
I will look at the word used "cheating"- Now used in the context of some type of "contest amongst people or teams" in a competetion driven event, yes using some type of unfair advantage to gain an advantage, then yes that, to me defines "cheating". I think most church-attendees / christians somewhere in their spiritual maturity realize that if they are not following 100% of scripture, they are then not fully living in the spirit, yet I would not consider that in the same word context as "cheating", God already knows what you are doing or not, so if anything you're disobeying, not sure cheating is the same. Disobeying is not an attempt to gain an advantage. We each will have to answer for our own disobendience and face the throne of rightful judgement and give our own response to salvation and our eternity.
When it comes to giving a financial contribution on a routine basis to a church, at whatever percentage level that be, compares to those who don't attend church at all. We as humans/souls and are all valued the same in God's eyes. Just looking at these things from a different view I guess.
The statement often stated by many: "Grossly Blessed / Netly Blessed". I think those who give 10% tithe or those who give less than that, if each are giving cheerfuly, then that is of their heart, which I don't think a percentage can be applied to. If a person is giving expecting to be blessed for doing so, then that giving in of itself is not of the heart. In the same way of giving of one's time/talents, if it's given to gain favor or accolades, then it is just for show. I' sure there is a scripture to back up this statement as. There will always be a scripture, supporting evidence, etc to support the topic by which whom ever the speaker is to attempt to support their point of view.
None of this is an attempt to debate the Word itself, simply sharing of debate on a Blog.
