I actually thought it was a non-fiction book of a man's journey who had a daughter murdered. Well, until I got to the part where God left a note in his mailbox. Then I read the back cover and realized it was fiction (which I virtually never read).

I found it interesting and thought provoking. For those who only see the stern father side of God, I think this book is good mind-opener. For those who only see God as a God of love who couldn't possibly send anyone to hell, it will reinforce that view. I think it is best we strive for balance in how we see God.

I didn't read it to pick apart the theology, so I won't here other than stress the need for balance.

My favorite part was when Papa says he is just in the present. I remember George Anderson saying "guilt can no more change the past than worry can change the future." It really triggered my imagination that God is just in the present. I think that sums up what a relationship really is.
