Help me understand the following passage.
Matthew 10:37-39 - 37 "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; 38 and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Your life isn't about this world. People come and go, a lesson I have been learning as of late. The only thing you can always rely on is God and His love, and you have to give up the world in order to enter the kingdom of heaven. Give up this life to Him so that you will have a life with Himf or eternity.
I think we as humans tend to find our identities in who our parents make us or how we raise our kids and the legacy we leave behind.
I think there is so much within us that we lust after. However if we realize that the life Christ gave up for us to take up is much more than we could imagine, perhaps we would leave these humanly desires alone and desire Christ. Crucify ourselves that we might live in the abundance Christ came to give us.
Beautiful truth about the gospel.
