I sent this note out this morning.
The election is over, the results are all but finished and we have a President elect, Senator Barack Obama. He may have been your choice or he may not have been your choice, but he is elected to become our next President.
I am calling for us all to spend five minutes in prayer at noon today for unity in our nation and for God to prick the heart of the President elect and all of Congress, other elected and non-elected officials, to lead our nation in a moral and just fashion. We were once proud to be called One nation under God and we can be again – remember what Scripture says;
2 Chronicles 7:14 - if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Let’s pray for a healing of our land and an opportunity to witness for Jesus.
Will you join me in prayer today for our nation?

I found the time set aside for prayer for our nation to be a powerful time of reflection. I sat outside - away from things - and prayed that God would heal our land. It was a hard election season and it will take time to heal the differences expressed. But as someone just said in an E-Mail, there is more about us that is the same than is different. We are Americans first and our party as some part of us. I will pray for and support our President elect. Will you?
I think it would be wonderful, if we would set aside the "noontime prayer" for our country & its leaders, Everyday at noon.
What do you think?
