    A Lazy Christian

Have you ever heard the term - Lazy Christian? This week I will be writing about Lazy Christians in my Daily Messages. Do you have any ideas or Scriptures that would support or reject the notion that some Christians or so-called Christians are lazy?

I am living proof that there are lazy Christians. It takes me twice as long to clamber onto any new plateau the Lord requires of me as it should. It took me 20 years to establish a regular study and prayer time. That's probably TWENTY times as long!(Praise God I am now at the point Ray described Sunday, where it is harder to drag myself away from it than it is to get to it.)
I fear we are all with Paul, here, doing what we would not do, and leaving that undone which we want to do.

I was told that this might be eye opening for some - not everyone who responds to this blog are from Mt. Oak. This is an open blog and folks from all over the world could respond.

Having said that there are also friends from my former church who post and others that I know as well. And, some I do not know at all!

Just thought that might be a good bit of information.

This morning's message was extra special. I can't wait for the daily messages about being a lazy Christian. I do not want to be one. I want to be on fire for Jesus

When is Street Reach? You mentioned it this morning as a church local mission opportunity.

Is a lazy Christian really a Christian? Can you be lazy and be a Christian?

Is a lazy Christian a backslider?

If a Lazy Christian is a backslider, what does that imply? What doctrines are impacted? How would we help them to turn around and move toward Jesus again?

"The soul of the lazy man desires and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made rich” (Proverbs 13:4 KJV).

A Christian shows he is a believer by his works. Ephesians 2:10.

James 2:26. “For a body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

The Great Commission is commanded to us. Some people just don't have it in their nature to go out and bring people into the church. It is just their nature to be shy or to sit on the sidelines. They may be labeled "lazy". But in their hearts they do good to everyone and give their tithe to the Lord. They are prayer warriors. Does that make them a lazy Christian? (Linda)
