What is your favorite movie and why?
Mine is It's a Wonderful Life with James Stewart as George Baily. It came out in 1946 - I know - I'm old and my taste is old. I like Jimmy Stewart movies.
This is the movie where George wishes he had never been born and he was shown what life would be like without him. It makes you think.
I also like action movies put out by Chuck Norris, Clint Eastwood, Steven Seagal, Charles Bronson, Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, John Wayne and Van Diesel.
How about you?

I have always loved The Wizard of Oz. I remeber trying to explain to my daughter haow exciting it was to see the movie change from black & white to color. I grew up with black & white TV.
I also enjoy any movies with Tommy Lee Jones and Sandra Bullock.
Hands down-it has to Princess Bride! The satire is sooo good that Chris and I have been quoting from it for years! "Life is pain Princess"!!! Joan Ado
Forrest Gump. It was a wonderful creative way to use a story yet using history as a backdrop. Wonderful use of a storyline taking the character from a young lad thru various levels of his life up thru adult. Didn't need "over the top" animation or special effects. Funny, yet heartful emotions also. See and they didn't make a part -II either. Most movies today are nothing but remakes or prequels, sequels, etc.
Also Titantic, for using a love story with historical event as a backdrop.
With the passing of Paul Newman this week I have pondered this question. As a women quickly approaching 50, I think of all the wonderful movies that I have seen in my life time. Wizard of Oz, Heidi, The Sound of Music and then all the Disney Classics that most of us grew up watching. There are old favorites like, It's a Wonderful Life and The Commandments. But when I think of what my favorite movie is the one I can watch over and over it would probably be "Doc Hollywood"! I know corny movie, no big stars, but that movie captures something inside me that just yearns for that kind of life. I grow up in a fairly big city and always wanted wondered what growning up in a small was like. My Mom grew up in a small coal mining town in PA and she tells me I would have been like her and gotten out the moment I could. I think that movie just speaks to time long forgotten, where small towns where good and family values prevailed. I wish Hollywood would make more like that type of picture. Thanks for letting me share - Pam Lowry
The Day The Earth Stood Still(1951)(not the new one) My first scifi movie as a child that left a lasting impression and the first time I really thought about no war - peace throughout the world.(Watch the old one in black and white before you watch the remake.)[Linda:)]
