I am going to try something. In the past, I was not willing to post comments to a thread that were not identified. I still think that a person should be willing to stand by their comments. But, more debate and discussion occurred recently when I allowed anonymous comments. The purpose of this blog is to open discussion so I will test allowing anonymous comments.
I will also examine language and purpose. I will not allow people to be demeaning to others.

I totally support the anonymous approach. Yes it allows a more free response means. I also support the actual posting to be controlled /filtered, to enjoy truly purposeful discussions/views are shared and not simply used as a "shooting gallery" style. The other syle of having to provide a name, to me is like living in an United States village but being controlled by the Chinese National government.
I am torn between standing up for what I say and saying what I would not normally say if I was known. You can always change your approach Pastor Ray if things do not go well.
I am a firm believer in standing behind what you say. Sometimes people need the anonymity to say what they think so they feel they will not be judged by others. Sometimes this is very illuminating.
Comments on the page have led to great, judgment free conversation and dialogue between people which I think is one of the most fruitful outcomes of this blog (thanks Pastor Ray).
If we as a church body would judge each other on views stated here; gossip or stay away from someone because of opposing views and/or create an exclusive group of people with the same views, then we are not loving one another. It's all meant to encourage, challenge, and help one another along on this Amazing Race.
However, I do agree with the last anonymous post.
Perhaps anonymity can be allowed on some posts but not others? In general, I think we should be willing to own our comments. But there is certainly value in allowing anonymity in threads like the one about sin, where many of us would NOT admit such things, and identification would be both inhibiting and possibly hurtful.
Molly H (I'll own this one!)
How come no one opens, or even brings their Bible to church? Could it be that I don't need to bring it anymore because it is put in front of me on a screen?
This bothers me.....
I ask people to open their Bibles every week - but many do not bring them and some would rather look up on the screen - at times we do not put the opening Scripture on the PPT - but at times we do - bring your Bibles and open them folks!
