    Pastor Charlie

Pastor Charlie recently wrote an article about encouragement. I would like to encourage Pastor Charlie. How about posting some positive comments about Pastor Charlie and his ministry at Mt. Oak.

I will begin by saying that when I ask Pastor Charlie to do something, it is done as soon as possible. I do not have to follow up or ask about it, it is done. If you have had persons on your staff you know how important this trait is and how helpful.

I will also say that Pastor Charlie is a great asset to me and makes my job easier. I haven't always been able to say this in the past.

Thank you Pastor Charlie - I appreciate you!

Pastor Charlie: Pastor, neighbor, but especially friend. Charlie's a good man! He not only loves Chris and me but he loves our children and he loves us through us loving our children! He is honest and kind.

Honestly, I appreciate Charlie's sense of humor and his enormous laugh more than anything! Take him out to lunch...you'll get to know what I mean!

    Pastor Charlie,

What a friend indeed and brother in Christ who has on more than one occasion been there when I and my family really needed him. I do not know what we would have done without you Charlie, your kindness, strength and counsel will forever be remembered and cherished. God Bless You.

    Yours in Christ

You can ask Charlie to come to the hospital to be with you and he will come, he will pray with you, and he will cheer you up and you will be blessed. May he never lose that smile and that laugh that is always ready to come forth.....

    Pastor Charlie,

I have to confess your warm hugs and sincere, open communication is what my family likes about you.
Whatever the topic you communicate, you appear to understand HOW to listen and RESPOND in a real/transparent manner. That is a gift!!

Since we have been a part of the Mt. Oak family, we have heard you preach many times. It just so happens that every single time my children and their friends have made a pleasant commit around our Sunday lunch meal with some pieces from the message that impacted them.

To a parent - that is quite an achievement and a wonderful compliment that a pastor could receive. I thought that you should know that. Bill and I personally like how you deliver your inspired messages. Direct, focused on one subject - peppered with the scriptures to make the main topic come alive and active in our spirits.

Bill and I believe that your constant, positive attitudes and warm countenance, is very engaging. Your warm mannerisms help to allow others to feel comfortable and accepted in your presence. Therefore, thank you for being that wonderful vessel of faith and hope because we need and love those gifts the Lord has worked into you.

    Sincerely,

You always have a smile and an encouraging word for everyone. You seem to know when someone (ok me) is having a down day and know just the right thing to say. You are always there for everyone. I know you have always been there for me. I think you are GREAT! And cherish that you consider me a friend

I'm excited about these comments - Charlie is loved and appreciated - how about some more comments - this post will stay up - keep them coming!

I appreciate that Charlie will speak to me in love and I do not feel threatened or judged, simply loved and helped to be a better pastor. He has been with Mt. Oak three more years than I have and in my first year he was a source of great support getting to know how things operated.

Pastor Charlie is a blessing. He has encouraged Bryan and I through our trying times, laughed with us in our joy, and encouraged us in our desires. I love him! I especially love the warmth and kindness he showed my sister Ebony while she was here. She felt right at home and could really feel the strength of his love in his kind words and his gentleness. May the Lord continue to bless you and bless you in abundance. Nicole Bontrager

Pastor Charlie, you are such a blessing to us all. You have a gift for pastoring -- CARING about people, reaching us where we are, praying with us and making us smile. Thank you for loving my children. Thank you for holding fast to the gospel and preaching the truth to us. Thank you for teaching us about ancient Hebrew customs (You make a great rabbi!). Thank you for sharing your life and your gifts with us. May the Lord bless you at least as much as you have blessed us!

Pastor Charlie exhibits all the qualities one could want/need in a pastor and more.

During a time of great need, he empathized with us, and he and Annette came to our house to talk and pray (and we live probably farther from the church than anyone else). He also saw to it that the church greatly help us during that time.

He always gives good advice and delivers good messages. Thanks Pastor Charlie!

    Pastor Charlie,
Thank you for all your encouragement and prayersduring a very difficult year. I don't know how Dan and I would have been able to get through it all without your help. We appreciate you as our pastor and friend.

Pastor Charlie became a friend of mine soon after he first arrived at Mt. Oak. His honesty in conversation, his wisdom and his advice are are blessing to me. With him, you can pick up where you left off, because he is a truthtelling straight shooter, a what you see is what you get, authenic man's man, with no agenda other than God's - all this and more, modeled in the image of Jesus. You're the man, Charlie. Thanks for your continued friendship.

I'm a little late in my thanks to Pastor Charlie. Let me just say he ROCKS! I think Charlie and Annette are phenomenal people and we have been so blessed by having them in our lives. I feel better about my life just knowing there are people like them out there praying at the alter of God for the ones they encounter. Thank you for being iron in my life. - Kimberly Sellin
