TRUTH!!! Anything else is just details...

"Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin." Romans 3:20

"The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple;" Psalm 19:7

"What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, "You shall not covet." Romans 7:7

"The law of his God [is] in his heart; None of his steps shall slide." Psalm 37:31

"Therefore the law was our tutor [to bring us] to Christ, that we might be justified by faith." Galations 3:24

"Sinners must hear the thundering of Mount Sinai before we bring them to Mount Zion." George Whitfield

"The Law searches to the dividing asunder of joints and marrow, and it is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Its excessive light strikes us like Saul of Tarsus, to the earth, and makes us cry for mercy." Charles Spurgeon

I suggest that the style that is best is teaching with application. I find no reason to separate them. One without the other is merely a partial meal.

Yes, it is about delivering the Truth - which equates to presenting Jesus (Jn 14:6). However, it is also about presenting in a manner that one can relate to for purposes of change. Christ spoke in a style that his hearers could identify with...whether he was encouraging them or scolding them. Even the parables were crafted around topics that the listeners would remember. So, style should incorporate both in order to effectively communicate God's word.
