March 31st? Happy birthday, Christopher Walken! I gotta have more cowbell!
Happy birthday Herb Alpert, the grand-daddy of cheesy trumpet waltzes and 70's gameshow themes;
Surely you don't mean Shirley "Come on world, there's a song that we're singing, join in get happy" Jones? The Partridge Family might never have got off the blocks if not for her?
Then again,
March 31st IS Mr. "I invented the internet" Al Gore's birthday. If not for his vision, we'd be stuck driving truckloads of information down tubes somewhere.
Not a birthday?
How about:
March 31 is the day that Daylight Savings Time was first enacted;
Explorer 1 came back to earth 12 years after it was launched;
Archeologists found a complete Australopithicus afarensis skull, which was supposed to explain when humans started walking upright and stopped dragging their knuckles on the ground. I went to school with some kids who apparently missed the "cease and desist with the knuckle-dragging" memo, by the way;
Or my (geeky) favorite,
March 31st is when Netscape released its code under the open source agreement, paving the way for the wonderful firefox browser.
Not any of those things?
I'm tapped oyut, unless it's something like Easter, but that wasn't on the wikipedia page!
By the way, Monday, February 12 was when I was officially appointed to Mt. Oak, effective July 1, 2007. The announcement came on Sunday, February 11, at Mt. Zion and Mt. Oak. We met with Mt. Oak's SPRC on February 9 after accepting the move on February 6 and being asked on February 5. They are important dates in my life.
I'll give you all a few more days to guess. My wife got it without even stopping to think about it and it isn't an anniversary or birthday that no one would know. But then, she knows me pretty well.
March 31 to April 3, 2008, the world's leading technology companies as well as innovative start-ups will showcase their news and views on the future of electronics, design tools, and new applications to the world's top 50+ electronics journalists at a new location in San Francisco.

My guesses would be:
1) Easter
2) the day clocks are moved ahead
3) your birthday
I suppose it's the last possibility to plan your pranks for April Fool's Day.
Well, let's see......
