One of our recent polls found that a large number of persons wanted to sing Christmas Carols this year.
Would anyone like to gather on Sunday night, December 9th or 16th, at 6 pm in the Sanctuary?

I love the idea. Much as I love our contemporary music, sometimes I just need a hymnal in my hand and some good four-part harmony. Christmas is a great time for that! I can't commit to one night or the other at the moment.

Christmas carols are definitely something that would bring the "traditional" feel back to Christmas. For so many of us it reminds us of times gone when family was family and gathered together with love and a sense of contentment. Those memories bring joy and remind us what Christmas and Jesus are truly about, Love! Love is why it all came about, His love for us and the greatest gift. Wow, a cool informal homey gathering around a piano with a couple of subtle instruments and children looking to our example... No big todo, no formal leadership so that all can feel welcomed, relaxed, unpressured and sing from our hearts whether we are completely vocally adept or not. Warm, inviting, smiles, joy, friendship, warmth, closeness...CHRISTMAS!
I'm in favor of having an additional time just to be a family and sing Christmas carols. Sunday nights are perfect!
