Worship was awesome this morning. Both services seemed to have the Spirit moving in them. At the second service I had a chance to pray with a couple who are having trouble with a pregnancy. Another person came to me for prayer for their family to put God first again after a struggle of years placing self there. Another person said they wanted to talk this week about some hurts. Still another person came to me twice for prayers for them. Some folks were back that hadn’t been to Mt. Oak for several years. One said they felt at home and would be back, another family I spoke with hadn’t been in years either. God is alive and well and moving at Mt. Oak – don’t miss a Sunday – you never know what God will do each week and you don’t want to miss it! If you missed second service you also missed us sing happy birthday to Annette and if you missed the first service you missed the birth of our choir. DON’T MISS ANOTHER SUNDAY!
When Quoting Scripture Inflicts Harm

The services have been great the last few weeks. The worship has been really good and the preaching too. I have noticed something though. When the youth played a few weeks back they introduced a few new songs that I really enjoyed but I don't really remember them so I was thinking we would sing them this week in church. But the youth didn't lead worship. We learned another new song which was good as well. Now I am feeling like I have to learn 2-4 new songs in two weeks? So here is my question; How is it going to look and feel with having two very different praise teams? Both teams will have two different feels and styles which aren't bad things, but with having to different teams will they both be singing the same songs? How about when news songs are added, will both teams learn and play them? I think it is very important that both teams are on the smae page and that there isn't a favor team issue started in the church? So maybe my question is how can we have the two teams system work to where the teams are different but also the same if that makes any sense?
Very good question.
It is our plan to have the base of songs to be about 75% the same with some variety.
We also plan to have each group learn new songs together so that we can use them several times in a month to learn them.
Finally, our hope is that there will be harmony between the two praise teams, not unity in that you can't tell the difference but harmony so they go well together as a whole team.

Don't miss another Sunday Night @ AMPED either!!! haha. Amen! The Lord is moving in a mighty way morning and night, sunday to sunday, and we thank Him for humbling us enough to keep us in step with His spirit!
I was unable to attend the service due to work, but was made aware of your prayer(s) at 1030, pastor. Here's a belated "Amen" in agreement! Amen!
To GOD be the glory!
I am so ready to join MO....I have one more Sunday I am obligated to be there....just one more...I got to make it to AMPED though..that's at night....Sweet!!!
the comment "anonymous" made about praise and worship makes a bit of sense though...it would be hard to learn that many songs a month...I like the idea of one new song a month....both teams can do the same song....it won't matter to me if they do it two different ways...but it may effect other people....it would help to build the congregations song base...and does MO have a prayer team? just a thought...and a question....
SEE YOU NEXT MONTH!!!
It would be nice to have the names of the songs posted somewhere on the Mt. Oak website. There have been times that a song has touched me so much that I have gone to the Christian bookstore singing the song so they could try to help me find it!
